About the event

We cordially invite you to attend a Climate Action and Adaptation Community Workshop on January 16th 2019 from 7pm-9pm at Albany City Hall. The workshop will be an opportunity for members of the Albany community to learn more about the City’s Climate Action Plan update (“CAP 2.0”), brainstorm innovative mitigation and adaptation strategies, and provide input on proposed strategies. We would love to have as many community members present as possible!

As a regional leader in sustainability and climate action, the City of Albany has committed to ambitious greenhouse gas reduction goals of 60% reductions by 2035, and net zero emissions by 2050. Albany’s first Climate Action Plan (CAP), which was adopted in 2010 and committed the City to reducing greenhouse gas emissions 25% by 2020, is nearing completion after years of implementation. In order to achieve the City’s long-term emissions reduction goals, Albany is developing a new Climate Action Plan (“CAP 2.0”) aimed at both reducing emissions and adapting to a changing climate. We hope to gain valuable insight from the community at this workshop, and throughout the process.

Light refreshments will be provided. Children are welcome to participate in the workshop.

Please save the date, and spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and anyone else who you think may be interested!

If you have any questions about the workshop or planning process, please contact Elizabeth Carrade at ecarrade@albanyca.org or (510) 528-5762.
